Midna's paws tingled as she sat in the comfortable realm of her twoleg's garden. She had spent many days basking in the sun as it warmed her caramel colored tortoiseshell pelt. The season was now at winter's edge and an icy wind blew as cold as her heart and buffeted her thick coat as she stared in the distance. She tried to blink away the pain of the last few hours but it clung to her as she contemplated her future. Her twolegs had been acting strange for months. To her joy, there were boxes everywhere. She spent a lot of her days playing and sleeping in them as her twolegs started filling them with their things. At first it was all good and fun, but Midna's anxiety grew as suddenly her favorite resting places such as the maroon couch started to disappear as well. She thought, "My twolegs are going mad!" However, that wasn't the worst of what was to come. They started loading everything into a giant monster and soon there was not a trinket in sight. Midna vocalized her anxiety, but they did nothing to comfort her. The common pats and sweet words were absent, and she felt doom looming over her. The empty twoleg den filled her with dread, so she made sure to watch from the garden as they continued to load things into the belly of the monster. Then, the unthinkable happened. They drove the menacing monster, as well as the smaller monster away. She felt sure they would come back for her. They had just forgotten in their madness and would soon realize she wasn't with them. Hours past and no such thing happened. The reality hit her as if she had been plunged into ice cold water. They had abandoned her.
The betrayal shook Midna to her core as she thought of all the comfort she drew from them. They had fed her, given her affection, and provided her with a warm den that shielded her from the elements. She thought they had loved her, and that she was one of their own even so far as to say she was their kin. Logically, she knew they weren't,but as time progressed she adopted them as her family. To show her devotion she made sure to rub her scent on them when they came home, groom their odd patch of hair at night, and bring them offerings of garden birds she had stalked for hours. Her crazy twolegs never ate her offerings, but she felt she was showing her utmost devotion by giving them her prey rather than eating it herself. Especially, because the dry food they gave her was so horrific. Despite all Midna's efforts, and the true love she felt for her owner's she could never quite shake the emptiness she felt. She thought her twolegs were the key to her happiness, but they had ripped it away from her and proven they were never her true family.
During these events, Midna began to have vivid dreams every night. She saw herself walking across an endless plain of snow and ice knowing there was something ahead she had to reach. Despite fatigue she never let up,because of the promise of something looming ahead. The night before her abandonment, the dream changed and as she was searching she saw a long-haired cat, pure white ahead with ice blue eyes sitting ahead. She quickened her pace determined to meet this new cat and ask what it was she was desperately seeking. No matter how quickly she ran, she was never any closer and she heard a voice, "The deepest desires of your heart are waiting ahead. Fear not, though the journey will be harsh and long, you will meet friends to aid you along the way. Together you will be the key to blizzard rising."
Midna had woken that morning with her paws itching to move,but she ignored it. She brushed off the bizarre dream thinking she was happy here with her twolegs, and the she already had the desire's of her heart. Oh, how painfully wrong she had been. Now her emerald green eyes stared into the distance, as she weighed her options before her. She could go from twoleg den to twoleg den, meowing pitifully until a kind soul decided to take her in. She would live a life of comfort, but never fully allow herself to trust twolegs again, knowing they could pack up and leave her in a second. Or, she could trust her dream and begin a journey not knowing if she would ever reach her destination, but with a hope she had never had before. Determination clenched her heart, as she leaped the wooden fence and began her path through the twoleg dens toward the unknown.

Dawn broke over the horizon, painting the dark and starry skies with beautiful hues of gold and copper. Mint slowly rose from his sleeping position, his muscles sore from laying on the harsh earth for so long. The life of an alley cat was both hard and exciting, but the tom longed for a life outside of the twoleg place, where his body could rest on something other than gray earth and maintained twoleg grass. His green eyes flicked out onto the horizon once more, and he felt compelled to leave the alley he had called home for his entire life. He glanced down to the boxes that his mother and sister resided in, and his heart ached; he never wanted to leave his family, yet somehow he knew that the older he got the more wrong his life felt. Something was missing and he couldn't quite comprehend what he was meant to do.
He jumped from the large green box that twolegs seemed to throw away their belongings, and padded over to the soft brown ones that his family lived in. He nosed Sage awake, his green eyes sad but pleading. It took no time at all for the gray she-cat to recognize that he was saying his silent goodbye, and she pressed her pink nose into the fur around his neck. As her breathing slowed, Mint pulled away and moved to his mother next. The old tabby cat had scars littering her skin, wounds that neither Mint nor Sage could ever figure out how to heal completely. As her eyes opened, she realized what was happening in a moment. She licked the top of his head, recognizing that this would likely be the last time that she saw her son again. Mint purred, happy for once that his family required no words to express how they felt. He wasn't sure if he could muster the words to express how sad he felt to be leaving them.
The gray tom turned around and padded out of the dark alley, without another glance to his kin. He knew that he would not be able to leave them if he had to say goodbye all over again. He knew his first order of business was to exit the city and make his way to the heart of the twoleg place. Luckily his alley was close to the start of the nests, and the nests were close to the edge of the twoleg place. He broke out in a brisk walk, though it could easily be considered a sprint. He knew that he needed to find someone; anyone. He was never really sure of what he was doing, but his instincts were strong. It wasn't long into the twoleg nests that his eyes caught a black and orange pelt.
By the looks of it, it was a younger she-cat, and a kittypet at that. He wasn't sure if she would find him scary. He slowed his pace and took a bit to assess the situation. He was a large gray tom, and obviously a wild cat. His long gray fur made him seem larger, but he hadn't run into another wild cat who had found him scary yet. It seemed to be the mellow way he carried himself that other cats instantly recognized. Mint had never gotten into a serious battle, and so he was scar free. He took a deep breath, and took a path that would keep him in the she-cats field of vision. The last thing he wanted to do was scare her.
"Lost?" he questioned, his voice escaped in the softest volume he had heard yet. It had been a while since he had last talked to the neighboring alley, and his throat suddenly felt rather raw from disuse. He kept his ears and tail low, in order to seem non-threatening. Was this the cat he was supposed to find? Or was he barking up the wrong tree. NOTES ;I HOPE THIS IS OKAY :O i wasn't sure how to intro my character, so i just did this. if its not what you wanted or you need me to change something let me know <333

Midna had been walking through the twoleg place for a while weaving through houses and jumping fences when needed. She was deep in thought wondering whether she would ever find where she was heading. She hoped she was really doing the right thing, and that she wasn't crazy for listening to her dream. She jumped and turned around abruptly after she heard the low hoarse voice of another cat. "N-not exactly" she stuttered noting the huge size of the tom in front of her. Although, he was rather large his eyes were not showing hostility. She relaxed a bit and thought what a site she was. A kittypet wandering around without any twolegs to call her own. "Its kinda a long story... do you live around here?" she asked.

Mint watched the kittypet carefully; not all of them were friendly just because they lived with twolegs. He was larger, but speed could cause him to loose a fight if it came down to it. She seemed more startled than anything, and he instantly sighed in relief. Had he found a fight so soon after leaving home, he could have been in big trouble. The last thing he wanted to do was return home wounded; his family would worry too much.
'N-not exactly.' Interesting. Finding a kittypet outside who wasn't either hostile or lost wasn't very common. While the cats that were allowed outside weren't inherently mean, they protected their territory with amazing determination. She didn't seem to be defending anything as much as she was casually strolling around, seemingly in a single direction.
'It's kind of a long story. Do you live around here?' He cocked his head to the side at the question, as though he were confused. "Around here? Oh, no. I live in an alley. Well... I lived in an alley. I felt like it was time to leave." the toms voice was still soft, but steady; like the light trickle of a meandering brook. "You aren't lost, but you don't seem like you're defending a territory either. Are you on an adventure?" he questioned. He used to go on them often with his sister when they were younger, but generally older cats went on adventures that they never came back from; as though they were looking for something and found it. They never had a reason to return. NOTES ;

Midna's eyes gleamed as she realized this tom had left his home as well. Something drew her to this new cat and she had a feeling they were destined to meet. She wondered if the white cat in her dream knew she would come across others who had the same desire to leave. Thinking back on her twolegs, her eyes clouded with sadness but she shook the heavy feelings away. "I left my territory... there was nothing there for me anymore." The pain was still too fresh in her mind to reveal that she had been abandoned by her caretakers.
Midna turned and sat in front of the large tom and thought what a great asset he would be on her journey. Two was much better than one, especially not knowing the dangers they might face. She gave her chest a quick lick and then nodded, "Yes, I guess you could say i'm going on an adventure. I don't know how to describe it exactly, but I think there is somewhere I need to be. I'm looking for mountains, and I feel like this is the right direction to go away from the twoleg dens."
She wondered where this lone tom could be headed and if it was possible they could journey together. She knew Alley cats often lived in their own groups, and wondered what had driven him to leave. She didn't want to seem to eager, but she hoped that he might suggest them traveling together at least for a little while. Instead of asking, she kept a friendly gaze hoping for the best.
